The Temple Papers 5.0

Disintegrated loops and a horizon full of thunder make a tired driver pull over. The rain on the windscreen revives memories rendered on the highway. As eagles eat, a person wakes with tears as the endeavours of last night are visible in the crust of sleep.

THUNDER / RAIN / RENDER

The Mallee’s grip slips when the wind blows, and the dust swirls. Bountiful gardens are resigned too distant memories, located within the notes of those whose feet trampled with contempt. Three people search vast dunes for artefacts, as nature mocks mans absolute coordinates.

BOUNTIFUL / MALLEE / TOUCH

Farmers protest the looming of a new mine, while mono crops resign us to a world of hunger. Is salt the perfect metaphor for balance — tipped too far in any direction, and the immediate world is consumed.

HUNGER / SALT / CROP

When I become all, and all becomes one, our ability to garden slowly returns. When grounded once more, binaries become tapestries as threads weave between others. Old and new networks reform.

TAPESTRIES / GARDEN / WEAVE

To garden is to foster balance, where endemic species work together in the animation of life and death. The Foxgloves growing in lutruwita signals principles that miss the simplicity of being within a place.

Was our world consigned to profit during Confucius’ time? If we had listened then, what might still be known. Can love live within walls built of pillage and dominance. With no windows, where do you find sanctuary? To foster love is to be the other.

FOSTER / LOVE / SANCTUARY

When we embrace the cosmos, we find cliffs made by wild dogs and islands forged through violent clashes. Spaceships made from plants save our future selves. Fear and love are opposites, with beauty in the middle.

COSMOS / EMBRACE / BEAUTY

There is a new horizon that looks to the past and the future. Time is marked not by hands but with the passing of light, season, weather, and tide. Nature’s technologies surpass our own. A case in point is the Eel who postpones death to procreate.

PROCREATE / TECHNOLOGY / SPECULATE

Now that the other has become a citizen, let us speculate on the nature of trade. The other ensures waste is fertile and part of the system, and networks are layered and embrace the inefficient. New maps evolve, oscillating between views, sensations, sounds, sights and stories.

FERTILE / SYSTEM / CITIZEN

Why do we dream of shackles and conscripts? Why don’t we dream of a place where Alice might roam. A place of excitement where the unexpected is championed. A place where one can be strong in their silence and fragile by nature.

When you stand on the salt lake from dawn to dusk, moisture wicks from your skin. The layer of lake that forms on limbs is an invitation to sit. Natures intelligence is a far cry from the anthropocentric milieu, whose structures focus on efficiency and culture serves too confine.

MOISTURE / MILIEU / WICK

How would you feel if you were asked to leave your material body and be uploaded to a digital hive? Will you miss the intimacy of touch? Are you willing to become part of an endless evolution? Are we not already part of such a system?

HIVE / EVOLUTION / SYSTEM

With a new distant horizon beyond the world that would not die, the remnants of land division erode in nature’s grasp. No longer do we fly and look down on unnatural geometries. Cartesian grids release their prisoners, and relinquish their hold on others.

CARTESIAN / GRASP / GEOMETRIES

Within a world cusped with salt, passive observers transmogrify in a multiplicity of assemblages. Art becomes a process of slow- analysis, seeking new strategies. When will the old die to enable the new to be born?

ASSEMBLAGE / STRATEGY / FLUX

In the world of others, I no longer feel as though I am standing outside the rule book. The rules are in constant flux as listening enables positive-failure. Worlds collide and fold into each other, bringing relief that we are not all the same.

When still, the flooded reflection inverts our world. Heat shimmers open passage to parallel places. Why can’t there be tunnels beneath the earth where mystical creatures play. When did we lose connection? How far can our imagination bellowed to roam.

MYTH / ENERGY / PLAY

Vast worlds are mirrored in microcosms. From outer galaxies, our world is smaller than the ants. Who said our world is the primary concern? Other Perspectives can be hard to view, but within a scale of 1:1 spaces open to deeply listen.

PERSPECTIVES / GALAXIES / VIEW

As eras have ended through the ages, creativity reveals new possibilities. Departure lounges are nodes in new highways. As arrival gates open to the consequences of actions. Motivations are reflected in decay.

MOTIVATION / REVEAL / DECAY

In the post-capital world, the tip is a plenteous garden that becomes a centre for active congregation. Nourishment is found in the air, on the ground, and within elements, long thought lost. Seeking shelter in decomposition deactivates materialistic goals.

PLENTEOUS / ELEMENTS / SHELTER

Love assembled as the passive spectator stepped aside and enabled new worlds to arise. Gone are the days of labour for profit, where one would rule many. Gone are the days when old warnings from songs are ignored. These are the days we returned to the forest.
